Volunteer

We are always anxious for people to help with the many facets of producing a musical.

Production Areas

Costumes

Costumes are a big part of any production. While we create all our costumes, we do very little sewing. If you feel you can’t help, trust me, you can. Whether it involves organizing, or just gluing pieces to a costume, every job is important to the production.

Costumes are built every night but you can come whenever possible. "Costume Moms" (as we call ourselves) can use any help you can give. When you see your child on stage it is a great feeling to say “Hey, I helped with that costume”, and when you child says “My mom helped make this costume”, you officially have become a costumer.

Set Painting

Set painting is an opportunity to get involved with backstage theatre.  We usually meet about three times a week to paint after construction is completed. All supplies are provided as well as instruction, if you have no experience.  This is a chance for parents and children to work together on our shows.  We appreciate all the man power we can get and will take any amount of time you can give us.  Come make something beautiful!

Sets

You don't have to be a master carpenter to help build the sets for CAST. Time, and unfortunately budget constraints, limit the size and scope of our sets. If you know how to use a screw gun, jig saw, circular saw, or just want to pitch in and help, we could use you! We build at various times; days, evenings, and sometimes on Saturdays. If the smell of sawdust, paint, or the draw of using your creative side interests you, then volunteer for set construction! Any level of experience will be appreciated!

Stage Crew

Volunteering for stage crew is a great learning experience. No prior experience is necessary. The only requirement is that you are able to be present the week before the show for rehearsals at night, and available the nights of the production. Volunteers will be backstage helping with costume changes, set changes, keeping track of props, and making sure the entire backstage is organized. Volunteers will learn exactly what goes into making a show run effectively and smoothly as it pertains to sets and props. It is a great experience for everyone, especially those that love theater but may not want to be in the spotlight on stage!
